As a visitor to Your24hCoach, you are most likely considering online live coaching. There are three things you should look for in any coach, be it an online live coach or face-to-face, with whom you are considering working.
1. Are they a good fit?
The key to a successful life coaching relationship is the partnership that develops between the coach and client. This type of partnership requires a good “fit”. What makes a good fit will be different for each person and not all online coaches and clients will be a good match. The best way to determine if a live coach is a good fit is to take advantage of any free initial consultation they offer and/or sign up for the shortest time frame they offer. This will allow you to get to know them and determine if they are someone you want to work with long term before committing to a long engagement.
2. Expertise and Training
The next thing you should look for is professional expertise and training of the live coach. Make sure the live coach you choose has expertise in the areas important to you and that they have been trained specifically in those areas. Don’t be afraid to ask for details on where they got their training, if they belong to any professional organizations, or how active they are in that area of expertise (do they teach? Attend conferences? Run support groups?).
The third thing you should look for is a live coach that operates in a professional manner. Can they provide you with a clear understanding of how you will benefit from working with a coach? Can they answer questions on fees, billing, missed appointments, refunds, referrals and confidentiality in a way that makes you comfortable?
Online live coaching can enhance and enrich your life at every level, but it is important to find the right coach for you. Just as it often takes a few tries to find a therapist, doctor or babysitter that is a good fit for your needs, you may need to meet with a few different online live coaches to find one with whom you can form a successful partnership.
