John Smith is a former high school teacher and guidance counsellor, currently practicing as a certified Life Coach, Recovery Coach and NLP Coach. He also conducts conflict resolution and dialogue facilitation as well as public talks through his program Transformation Through Knowledge.
John has become recognized for his work in the field of personal development as well as recovery, assisting people in overcoming obsessive, compulsive and addictive behaviours, including substance abuse. Over the years he has conducted numerous talks, seminars and workshops at business breakfasts, educational facilities, rehabilitation and recovery facilities, as well as radio and television interviews.
John currently heads up the Professional Standards Body of Ubuntu Addiction Community Trust (U-ACT), serves on the board of directors of Family And Survivors Trust Of South Africa (FastSa), serves on the therapeutic teams of various recovery facilities and also consults with individual coaching clients, while continuing with public presentations. He also is a founder member of a coaching network.
