About Dawn

My approach to coaching is filled with energy, optimism, grace, creativity and fun…all on behalf of seeing my clients soar. I notice possibilities everywhere and engage those with whom I work to see the possibilities that exist within themselves and their environments. I bring out of the box observations and questions “to the table” to help clients discover myriad new perspectives.

My clients have spanned ages from early 20s to 60s. Some have been on the cusp of realizing the dreams they hold for themselves but have been afraid to go after because of listening to the “shoulds.” Others are entering retirement years and realize they have a new blank canvas to fill.  In between are professionals who strive to live to the highest standards of their work and to step into the call of leadership.  I have worked with leadership teams that long to be high functioning but struggle to get there. Also, having worked with hundreds of parents over my career in education, I bring wisdom to the dilemma of how to balance work with home.  It comes up in almost every corporate conversation.

The foundation of all my coaching is to explore the deepest values of each client. For transformation to occur, with professionally or personally, one wants to be in resonance rather than dissonance with those core values.

The journey is exhilarating for client and coach alike, and with reimagination, realignment and redesign, the possibilities are endless.  The client chooses which ones to which the answer is “yes.”

I look forward to being in your presence and getting to know you through our journey and work together.

My Training and Qualifications

I have a BA in Sociology, an MA in Ministry, am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach through the Coaches Training Institute, and am a graduate of the Coaches Training Institute Leadership Program. I am a coach, speaker, seminar leader.  I am also a member of ICF International and ICF Global GA Chapter.

My Coaching and Work Experience

After 35 years as an administrator and national consultant in the independent school sector I chose to step into the entrepreneurial life.  During my years in education I coached hundreds of children, parents, faculty, and administrators and worked with Boards.

Three areas of specialty are:

  • Leadership coaching in corporate and educational environments, working with both teams and individuals.  I also conduct leadership coaching on a one on one basis outside of a place of employment.
  • Coaching individuals to give voice to their values and their dreams, design their lives in resonance with them, and commit to living in their magnificence.
  • Speaking and conducting seminars to support and inspire professional and family caregivers and have constructed a new paradigm through which to engage that role.

I am a former dancer. When I start my coaching sessions with Dawn I am always seated. As the sessions continue, however, I find myself dancing around the room with energy and new possibilities. Thank you!

I cannot think of a better official life coach than you! That is what you did for me at our school and I learned so much about others and myself through you. I have not been a classroom teacher since those days. Both of my babies turned out to be living medical mysteries, and I have applied everything I learned with you in caring for my boys. Thank you for all you have done to coach me through my life’s journey.

I cannot believe what has happened in just three months’ time. I am in a completely different place of how I view all of the dynamics around me and that include me. I am now living from a center of peace and know that I have the ability to choose in any given moment how I respond. It has been transformational.

We have had such fun together and there is so much resonance with how you have guided me and challenged me. It’s why I keep calling you back to get renewed energy and inspiration when I need it.

Wow! Just this one-hour of pro bono coaching has opened up so many new ways of thinking and ideas I have not even considered. I know I can now take the weekend to relax rather than stay in my worry and stress. I cannot thank you enough and will be back in touch.

I love COMMUNITY and am so anxious to work with you on developing that mindset! Thank you, Dawn, for your continued support, inspiration and your commitment to this community.

Dawn worked with our faculty leadership team to train them as facilitators of small faculty work groups. Her experience and calm, reflective nature engendered trust that led to open dialogue. The faculty felt renewed confidence and were excited to begin their facilitator roles!
